I have a new love ... (well an old love that is currently being revisited and rekindled) for body scrubs ever since I found a regimen and scrubs that worked well in decreasing my back acne issues. I was also having some severe skin care issues on my face in the beginning of the year because I wasn't using the right products and I wasn't eating right.
I have what you call sensitive combination skin which is probably the most evil skin care issues can get. I have oily spots and dry spots that need special care or both will act up. Products that are too harsh can severely dry out my dry areas, but products that are too gentle aren't effective. All products for sensitive skin aren't created equally and that is what I had to learn to hard way as I experimented with different skin care regimens.
Here are the 5 best body scrubs I've used that have worked wonders on my sensitive combination skin!
1. Trader Joes Lavendar Salt Scrub: (7.00/20oz)
I love love love this body scrub. For a salt scrub it is extremely gentle yet effective in leaving your skin feeling smooth and soft when rinsed off. I use this in the shower (be careful it does make the tub a bit slippery) and it not only leaves me feeling smooth all over but it smells amazing. Plus with the price... its hard to beat. It is a bit pricier online, so I suggest heading to your local Trader Joes to pick this one up.
2. Lush Angels On Bare Skin (3.5oz/ 13.95)
I've fallen in love with Lush products and I just can't stop experimenting. This was the first Lush product I tried and the one I continuously keep in my arsenal. I use this gentle cleanser daily for my face. The reason it is even classified as a scrub for me is because of the presence of ground almonds that serve to gently exfoliate while cleansing your skin. It is a bit pricy for the amount you receive but it lasts quite a while ( a little goes a long way).
3. Kayorcee Creations Sugar Body Polish (6.39/90z)
I received this scrub to review a few months ago and I'm sad that it is now finished. It smells like a little piece of heaven and also leaves your skin feeling amazing. This is another one I use for my entire body and it is a sugar based scrub compared to the Trader Joes salt scrub. The sugar granules melt onto you in the shower and leave you feeling smooth and silky after you've rinsed off.
4. Boss Babe Coffee Body Scrub (15.00/7oz)
This scrub is a bit harsher than the one ones mentioned above but I only use it on my tough spots (elbows, knees, heels of your feet). It is a coffee grain based scrub and gets the job done! This scrub leaves me feeling smooth long after I've stepped out of the shower. Be aware that it is a bit messy and you will have to clean up your bathtub after you've used it.
5. Lush Dark Angels (12.95/3.5oz)
This scrub doubles as a face and body scrub for me. Unlike the "Angels On Bare skin" cleanser this one get used as needed (usually once or twice a week) because it can be drying if over used. The black sugar serves as a gentle exfoliant and the activated powdered charcoal leave your pores feeling super squeaky clean. This is my favorite to use when my back acne is acting up after an oily hot sweaty day/ or work out.
