I've been bigging up the LOC method for years now because it works! And though I've broken the process down several times it's time to really get into the nitty gritty of what products would best serve you when trying to moisturize and retain moisture.

Now that we've re-hashed the basis of the steps, lets really talk about what products you should be using. Because not all products are created equally !
Your leave in/liquid option should have water as one of the first ingredients as that is the best moisturizer. If you want to go the heavier liquid version you want to make sure it is creamy and moisturizing. Stay away from leave ins that have alcohol in it and could potentially be more drying than moisturizing.

1. Alikay Naturals Lemongrass Leave In Conditioner: Use code TNT for 15% off on purchases from Alikay Naturals

2. Mielle Organics White Peony Leave In Conditioner: Use code TRESSES for 10.00 off of orders of 20.00 or more at Mielle Organics.

3. TGIN Green Tea Super Moist Leave In Conditioner :
Your oil option should be moisturizing as well. There is a major difference between a sealant and a moisturizing oil. The moisturizing oils penetrate the hair shaft. The sealants seal the moisture in. Depending on your hair type or structure of your hair you will want to choose an oil that works best for your hair.

1. Olive Oil: Amazing all around but best for women with high porosity hair. Olive oil is one of the few moisturizing oils that is able to penetrate the shaft and moisturize deep from within. I always keep olive oil ready in the kitchen for hair and cooking purposes. Two fold products are always a blessing.

2. Almond Oil: Great for normal porosity hair but does its best job on low porosity hair. It is a lightweight oil and is rich in magnesium which means it helps with growth and length retention. My fave almond oil is the peppermint and almond oil blend from Mielle Organics.

3. Avocado Oil: Best used for those with low porosity hair. Avocado oil is one of my few faves to use in my hair care regimen. Avocado oil also a penetrating moisturizing oil that can penetrate the hair shaft to offer maximizing moisturizing properties.
