My side hustle gang is crossing paths with my passive income gang (peacefully of course... no gang violence here) and have arrived here at this money making post. The list of 25 easy things to flip for profit came about when a few people on Instagram asked about dropshipping. (PS: If you're not following on Instagram... do yourself a favor and join me and all my future rich friends here).
Dropshipping is a retail fulfillment method where a store (or in our modern time... a person) doesn't keep the products it sells in stock. Instead, when a store (or person) sells a product using the dropshipping model, it purchases the item from a third party and has it shipped directly to the customer. This is what makes dropshippng so lucrative when you're able to find easy things to flip for profit.
I'm sure you've seen a large increase in the amount of people talking about how lucrative drop shipping is/ has been. It has become a very popular source passive income (think money when you sleep) that financial gurus have sworn by and promoted endlessly. You probably have seen the suggestions in the format of "start selling T-shirts" or "make a digital store".
Sites such as Shopify (whose stock is booming during this pandemic FYI), Printful, Alibaba and yes... Amazon all have been a steady reason and part as to why people have become more comfortable taking on the risks of dropshipping in order to reap the financial rewards.
The best dropshipping pro for me is your don't have to go off and ship things every time you have an order, and you don't have to keep track of inventory. When you're starting off slow this may not seem like too much of a big deal, but when you gain traction and have tons of orders you'll be thankful for this ! (And to anyone looking to get into dropshipping/ or starting off in the dropshipping world I wish you nothing but tons of orders let's speak positivity into this space shall we).

An important question I know you're thinking about asking, so I've already got you covered. If you're not dropshipping (which you don't have to do in order to flip items for profit) you need to find consistent reliable spots to obtain your inventory from. It becomes a lot harder if not impossible to find easy things to flip for profit if you can't find easy places for inventory. Here are a few places that you can try:
Okay so you've got an idea on how dropshipping works, you know where you can get inventory but how exactly do you make money with this inventory? Again if you're not going the dropship route, you can use sites/ apps to sell your items. Places like Poshmark, LetGo, Facebook Marketplace, Offer Up, and Craigslist are all great places to place your items on sale.
Make sure you take good/ decent pictures with a detailed description, so you can secure good ratings, and provide your customers with a quality purchasing experience with you. This is how you get people to come back, and spread the news about how much of a great salesperson you are.
Make sure to have shipping items easy to send your things off (and of course you'll want to calculate the cost of shipping into your prices as to offset and keep your costs low).
Ya'll know you remember throwbacks and fitteds circa 2002-2006. And don't get me started on jersey dresses! You can make a decent amount of coin reselling vintage and modern sports jerseys. At the very least, you'll captivate the millennial nostalgia as your key market for these items.
In my humble opinion, designer labels are one of if not thee easiest things to flip for profit.
This is obvious and a given, society loves itself some good designer labels. We can't help ourselves, we are captivated by Louis Vuitton and Chanel. These are probably the items that will make you the most money, but will be hard to come by at a good/ decent price. You'll be able to find great pieces, just prepare to spend a little more in comparison to the other items on this list.
Just like I mentioned with the old jerseys above, sport/ athletic memorabilia will always be profitable and in demand. (think how many people walk around in a Yankee fitted and don't even watch baseball). Hats are easy to find in many different platforms and will be profitable.
Vintage perfume is very similar to designer labels (especially if the perfume is a high fashion designer as well), people always love them and want them. If it is a perfume that is no longer made and pined for, you can expect major profitable gains.
Swimwear is very profitable come spring, summertime when people are looking for different styles and looks to sport on their beach escapades or pool days. Be careful when attempting to flip swimwear. This is merchandise that customers can be very critical of, and tricky as well. Always check for stains, stretched seams...etc before you ship it out.
Snow gear is very needed in obviously snowy places, but also for those that enjoy skiing and snowboarding. I don't know why people enjoy frolicking in the cold snow (I certainly do not) and when they do so they require gear to protect them from (get this): the cold! Because the gear can get expensive, finding it for a good deal and flipping it for a good price will be highly sought after.
Wool much like cashmere is a textile that people love. It is functional, reliable, and hella warm. You will be able to mark up that resale value drastically, particularly if you have stumbled across a 100% wool sweater on your inventory quest.
I don't even know if this needs to be explained. The beauty world is a multi billion dollar business, and growing. I don't condone re-selling used beauty products, because I just don't trust that idea hygienically. But if you've seen the way the masses flocked to those Kylie lip kits a few years ago, you'll understand why beauty products are easy things to flip for profit. When products are discontinued, made in limited quantities, or drops exclusively, getting your hands on that item and re-selling it will prove to be highly profitable.
Cashmere is quite an easy thing to flip for profit. Just like wool... cashmere is a beloved textile. 100% cashmere anything will go fast at a steep profit if you are able to find it in good condition.
Jordan re-selling has been a huge thing I've tracked almost my entire life. Now that there are so many other popular and highlight sought after sneakers, Jordan re-sellers have become Yeezy re-sellers and so much more. Needless to say it is a quick turnover rate when selling new and used footwear that people are willing to pay 5-7 times market value.
You can find these just about everywhere at a fairly "cheap" price that will allow for great margins when you sell them. Look for designer ties if you especially want to build up desire for these particular items. Just like with swimwear you'll want to check the status of the ties you are purchasing as these items will be highly scrutinized when purchased.
We all like a little razzle dazzle in our homes and that is usually easily attained with the linens we put on display. Linens can get expensive if they are a major staple of your home decor, so selling them at HomeGoods prices when purchased, will have them flying off your shelves (so to digitally speak)
Any type of boots will do well on the market in both male and female categories. Boots are a universal need, whether it's rain boots, snow boots, or just fashionable boots there is a market for re-selling them for sure.
This one may be tricky if you don't know a thing or two about cars. I can't imagine you'd be putting your best descriptive foot forward if you don't know the parts and what they're used for. I wouldn't even know what the accurate parts look like. So this particular option will require some prior knowledge.
I have 2 huge boxes of old CD's and DVDs in my garage... why? Because I don't have a single way to play them. When technology started evolving, I got rid of my DVD players, VCRs and CD players. Everything was digitally streamed, and accessible on smart devices.
The nostalgic nerd in me still wants to pop a CD into a CD player and scream along to Britney Spears. Vintage electronics are in high demand for all the reasons I just mentioned. Though they not be technologically needed, they are desired heavily for nostalgic purposes. If these items are found in good working condition, you can be assured you will make a great profit margin and make it FAST!
When I say appliances I don't mean a fridge or a microwave. Instead think of smaller appliances that make the day go by so much easier, like a radio (or in this day and age an Alexa with bluetooth capability) a coffeepot, or air fryer. Think o what we use and don't think about, but absolutely would lose it if we didn't have it for the day. This i the niche that will make you tons of money once you've mastered what your customer wants.
I feel a little weird selling used flatware, but then I think about eating and restaurants and it's 100% the same idea. Selling flatware (usually in sets or pairs) will make you quite some dough. Think of the flip you could make on sterling silver pieces going up for silver.
I've been looking at these cool metal sunburst knobs to replace my present ones in my house, because the internet really tells you that you can do anything if you just try. As I scour through Pinterest feeds on home decor, I realize DIY an old one and transition it into the modern look I was going for.
True story I still have my Backstreet Boys concert tee I bought on the Ave for 5 dollars. I never got to attend a BSB concert (and Corona kept me out of their concert this summer as well). That tee shirt means so much to me and I have had it since 6th grade. I often think about trying to find the same shirt in the same condition for sale just as precaution. Imagine million little me's feeling the same way and you've got a group in the market for concert tees both new and vintage.
My iPhone 6 is still alive and being used by my mother currently while I house an iPhone X. My brother used my iPhone 4 as an iPod for years after I upgraded to a 5 and the 6. So it is no surprise that these items are built to last, even moreso than the newer models being released now. What I truly love and cherish is my old iPod Touch. It was a first generation and operating on iOS 6 if you can believe it.
It was stolen from me, and I couldn't figure out why they would want such an old iPod without any of the bells and whistles we're accustomed to now. I realized, with a huge musical library, no cloud/ Siri they had stumbled on to the jackpot. People love old music players. It brings you back to a time of simplicity and technological innovation. People are willing to pay for those times. I recommend sourcing these old players like the iPod and Zune in an ethical way (don't steal duh) and turning them over for a sweet nostalgia filled profit.
I was shocked to see old Ralph Lauren Polo towel / blanket and sheet sets going for such top tier dollars. When you slap the term "vintage" on to anything it all of a sudden makes the value go all the way up. And they are out there for the taking (how do you think movies and TV are designing their scenes in the past?
I don't want to call everything vintage, because let's face it... the term can be a bit overused. But... when you see the way the fashion pendulum swings you will see that having older classic pieces from sportswear companies like Reebok, Fila, Champion...etc can be quite lucrative.
People love the 90's vibe/ look and lucky for both you and me, we grew up in the 90s. If you are a hoarder (like me) chances are you still have some of those very same classic pieces collecting dust in your closet. Let them go, set them free and watch your coins stack up.
Bro... have you ever seen a Gen X'er or Millennial land their eyes on old gaming systems from their youth. The magic, the joy, the tears... are almost always instant. If you find an old Playstation, Sega Genesis...etc that is in working condition with the cords and games... you are in for one sweet flip. Most people looking to get rid of their systems are aware of this as well so be careful how much you purchase these items for, and make sure they are in working condition.
