Credit cards often get a bad wrap as ruining peoples credit, budget...etc, and they certainly can do so. But credit cards can also be a tremendous tool in rehabilitating credit while earning some great rewards in return. I'm a huge proponent of using credit cards responsibly, and have been able to do so for the last 12 years. In navigating my credit cards (I now have two) I've been able to reap some major benefits without ever ruining my budget, or missing any payments.
This means that I've done quite a bit of extensive research (even more than last year's list) to bring you a new cultivated list of the best rewards credit cards of 2020.
In case you're new here or haven't heard this back story before, I signed up for my first credit card back in 2008 (my Junior year of college). Credit card companies can be extremely predatory, and this was something I knew all too well even prior to my financial awakening. So when I signed up for this card I wanted to make sure there were no foreseeable traps to ruin the credit I barely even had (only reason I even had a credit score was because I signed up for student loans back in 2006)

When looking into credit cards it is extremely important to do the research. Why? Because what works for one person may not work for you. Each person's financial situation will determine what the best card for you may be. As a general piece of advice, I recommend always paying attention to the following:
1. The APR: This will determine how much interest is charged to your principal if you do not pay the balance off within the month (which you should always try to do)
2. Fees: Does the credit card you're looking into have an annual fee just for having the card? If it does what benefits or rewards do you get for paying this annual fee? All important questions to think about and look into before signing up.
3. Credit Score: In the video below where I detail the 8 best rewards credit cards for 2020 I specifically go over the acceptable credit scores that each company is looking for in order to approve your application. You don't want to apply for a card if your credit doesn't meet the requirements. This will only be more detrimental to your credit score in the short and long term.
